Team Wahoo the beginning.
Adventure racing saved my life; I wanted to get back into shape after years of letting my body go. I had to find something to motivate me and a goal to work towards. I was talking to a friend (Jake Smith) and I told him I really needed to get back into shape but needed something to motivate me. I told him I wish there was something like an off road type triathlon and that is when Jake told me about Adventure racing. I instantly knew this was going to be for me. Jake said he had wanted to do them for a long time but never could find anyone to do them with him. I told him I was in and we talked to our friends Jason Demyen and Jason Landing they said was really interested and wanted in on the fun. We started researching the races and we decided that the Berryman 36 hour race was about a year away and wanted to attempt it. We don’t like to do anything the easy way if you could not tell. We like to set goals high and do our best of accomplish them and if we fall short then we know what we have to do to accomplish them. We started training at the first of the year doing little running and P90x, by the time the spring came around we started doing half marathons and smaller runs and transitioned into smaller triathlons around July. By the time September came around we were in pretty good shape and ready for our life changing adventure. I really enjoy the racing but more so enjoy meeting all the crazy people that also love doing this crazy sport.

So what is Wahoo? To us it is doing something that most people think is crazy and having a blast while doing it. It is being with and around a group of people who love to do the same thing as you. To us it is a new lifestyle a new way of looking at who you are and what you can accomplish. Can you Wahoo?
